Summer Getaway
For our vacation this year, Scott and I decided to stay in Michigan and enjoy some much needed peace and quiet. To do so, I jumped on line and surfed the net for cabins that were on water and allowed pets so we could take our doggie, Trina. In doing so we found this adorable A-frame on Little Bear Lake located just 30 miles south east of Gaylord. We had such a wonderful time doing nothing but whatever our hearts desired.
This is the view from the lake up to the house. Those stairs were a work out to climb. After one hike down and back up, Scott didn't feel guilty for missing a week's worth of classes at the Y.
This is the "dinning room". We thought the table and chairs were so cute! The house owner is German and really creates a German feel throughout the cabin.
Here is the living room and kitchen. Not much to really say about either except that both were very comfy and had anything you might need. Including china in the kitchen and tv, dvd/vcr, cd player and a ton of board games in the living room. A few nights Scott and I played Scrabble for a few hours. We ended up getting addicted to it and when we returned home, ended up buying the game to play. So far Scott is up by a few games. I had better luck at the cabin.
Scott decided to rent a jet ski for one of the days. He had so much fun on it! As mentioned in an earlier post, Scott bought me a new lens for my camera. So, while Scott was out tearing up the lake, I sat on the the dock and snapped pictures of him.
Trina had so much fun at the lake, it surpirsed both Scott and me. As soon as we arrived and unloaded the car, Scott took Trina down to the water to see what she'd do. Trina ran right in without hesitation. As far as we knew, Trina has never been in water, besides a bath. So to see just how much she liked being in it made Scott very happy.
Here Trina is watching Scott play on the jet ski. It was so cute watching Trina run up and down the beach making sure her daddy was ok!
After our week of relaxation, the three of us were ready to head home. We enjoyed our stay but it was time to get back to reality and our own bed! The cabin was great and we definately would like to stay in Michigan for another vacation. We really do have a beautiful, peaceful state.

It's great that you're having fun with your zoom lens -- Isn't it amazing?! It's so nice to be able to 'reach' further than the regular lens. That picture of Scott on the jet ski is great... looks like so much fun. Did you get to get on???
And finally, very cute picture of Trina. I'm sure she had a great time. It was cute to read how she just naturally went into the water. Sounds fun. Thanks for sharing!
